“Howl” biopic starring James Franco

This biopic also is in production and slated to come out in 2010. It will star James Franco as Allen Ginsberg, and will center around the publication of Ginsberg’s poem “Howl” and the aftermath, where Ginsberg went on trial for publishing something obscene.

The IMDB source doesn’t mention Lawrence Ferlinghetti, but he was also on trial since his City Lights had published the poem.

I’m looking forward to this film. It’s interesting to see just how different the 1950s were as far as censorship. But I also love James Franco. He’s like your everyday guy but extremely brilliant and funny. Like I have posted, we are big fans of all the Judd Apatow flicks because of people like Franco, who have been cast in Apatow creations ever since Freaks and Geeks.
